Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Mission Statement: Create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
The CEO is a strong leader who works in partnership with the Board of Directors to develop goals and execute strategies that support BBBS-CNM’s mission. The CEO directs, supervises, integrates, coordinates and assumes overall responsibility for all areas of BBBS-CNM’s operations and has full financial responsibility for the organization. The CEO is responsible for developing the overall strategic direction of the organization, evaluating alternative strategies and constraints, developing and implementing operating plans to achieve BBBS-CNM’s long range and annual goals and objectives. The CEO will represent BBBS-CNM in its relationships with major donors and prospective donors. The CEO will be expected to inspire, coach and mentor employees and volunteers to ensure optimum operating effectiveness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Program - Oversees the day-to-day operations of the agency in keeping with the policies of the Board of Directors and the Standards of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Ensures programmatic excellence and maximum program impact is achieved by establishing operational benchmarks, setting timelines and making child safety a priority. Ensures that comprehensive marketing strategies are developed to attract, engage and mobilize significant numbers of volunteer mentors.
- Fund Development - Proactively ensures that BBBS-CNM develops strong, long-term relationships with individual, foundation and corporate donors/partners. Personally builds and maintains key relationships to ensure fund development strategy is achieved. Aligns the Fund Development plan with the ratified budget to ensure sustainable revenue. Engages Board in fundraising efforts and guides them to set/meet Board goals.
- Board Development - Cultivates a strong Board willing to lead and contribute to the strategic and financial success of BBBS-CNM. Works to assure the Board’s independent governance oversight and performance accountability of the CEO. Ensures Board is kept fully informed of all important issues and condition of the organization.
- Business Planning and Execution - Develops and drives the business plan of the organization within the guidelines and under the strategic direction of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America National Office. Drives a collaborative process with the BBBS-CNM’s Board of Directors (Board) and staff. Uses performance metrics and quality indicators to guide operational decision-making.
- Financial Management - Develops plans that maximize the financial strength of BBBS-CNM without adversely affecting another criteria of success (e.g., customer satisfaction, quality of service). Ensures accurate and timely communication of financial condition to the Board.
- Human Resources (HR) - Attracts, retains, develops and leverages staff talent. Creates an environment where staff is engaged and performing at high levels. Institutes and utilizes an effective performance management system for all employees that includes annual objective goal setting and evaluation. Ensures legal representation and guidance related to employment. Ensures updates to HR practices and policy. Oversees compensation and benefits administration.
- Marketing/Recruitment - Oversees marketing and recruitment programs. Collaborates with Chief of Marketing and Recruitment to ensure that the agency's marketing strategy supports the growth of the program.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - Creates a culture that fully harnesses the benefits of a diverse Board, staff, and group of volunteers by encouraging all stakeholders to contribute and constructively challenge assumptions and perspectives. Ensures programming that elevates the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ambassador and Champion - Represents BBBS-CNM at external partnership events and with the media. Positively influences partners, the media and public policies to generate volunteers, donors and other resources.

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of youth development philosophy.

- Must be able to organize work and project needs.
Qualifications:
- Education Level (minimum) - MA or equivalent experience.
- Education Level (preferred) - Graduate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Nonprofit Management or related field.
- Minimum ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience with proven results in leading an organization and achieving strategic results.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, fiscal management, fundraising, and Board development within a nonprofit or similar organization.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion work.
- Knowledge of Big Brothers Big Sisters service delivery model preferred.
Compensation Package:
Salary: $120-$130k DOE
Plus 100% Medical Benefits
Plus Annual Bonus based on key goals
