The Director, Venture Banking will be responsible for collaborating closely with the Investment Banking and Venture Banking teams to create synergies, drive new business opportunities, and build on existing relationships.
Develop and retain VLB clients, focusing on loan and deposit opportunities while fostering strong relationships with Tier 1 venture capital firms and corporate partners.
Collaborate with peer departments, including IB, Commercial Lending, and Fixed Income, to generate and leverage VLB opportunities.
Implement and maintain technology solutions, such as Salesforce, to support the VB and IB platforms.
Stay up to date on venture capital ecosystems and deliver actionable insights to clients.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge in venture lending and portfolio management.
- Advanced knowledge of VC banking and related industry (OCC and FDIC) regulations.
- Effectively communicate (written and oral) with prospective clients, investment bankers, equity research analysts, and executive management.
- Strong team leadership skills to acquire, coach, develop and retain talent.
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic.
- Strong business acumen with ability to work collaboratively and cross functionally.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience required.
- 7+ years' of related experience required in corporate/commercial lending, debt capital markets, finance or accounting.
Systems & Technology
- Proficient in Bloomberg Terminal, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Salary Range: $200,000- $250,000
