Job Description:
The U.S. Pricing & Value Strategy team provides thought leadership, business intelligence and impactful insights to support the company’s key growth platforms. It is a high-profile, hard-working team that interacts frequently with senior leadership and various regional leadership partners. The U.S. Pricing & Value Strategy team is looking for an experienced Pricing Strategy & Analytics Manager.
The Pricing Strategy & Analytics Manager will be expected to provide substantial business analysis, insights, and foresight to understand and drive performance of the business. This individual will lead pricing analytics and shape pricing strategy, architecture, planning and recommendations both nationally and regionally.
A successful manager candidate is an active problem solver - someone who has the natural curiosity to understand business performance drivers through utilizing large datasets, integrating various information sources and applying analytical skills in developing strategies and recommendations. At the same time, the candidate needs to be able to effectively communicate the results through storytelling and visualization. Lastly, the candidate needs to be able to support and lead pricing research studies and lead pricing tests to inform longer-term pricing strategy.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop business cases and build awareness of pricing decisions across the system
- Communicate optimally in both written and verbal manners to convey relevant analysis
- Work with menu & marketing strategy to understand strategic role of menu items, shape pricing strategy, ensuring menu pricing architecture aligns with menu strategy/role
- Evaluate menu merchandising to assess how pricing shows up to the customer to evaluate strategies and menu architecture
- Support pricing planning process both nationally and regionally
- Develop and enhance pricing performance management reporting
- Identify key strategies and size pricing opportunities for long-term strategic planning
- Develop and deploy pricing research and testing plans, including: identifying opportunities for pricing focused research, development of a research and testing calendar, deployment of in-market tests, and management of strategic stakeholder communications
- Support & maintain the relationship with our price vendors.
- Deploy strategic pricing initiatives, including formulation and communication of pricing recommendations to support new product offerings, LTOs, and other national initiatives
- Use pricing tools and analysis of trends and opportunities and facilitate pricing meetings with key partners when needed
- Demonstrate people leadership including setting goals and coaching and developing 1 direct report
Key Competencies:
- Proactive, results driven and active problem solver
- Analytic Insight: Capability and experience analyzing large amounts of data using multiple data sources, develop analysis templates/tools and synthesize various findings into impactful recommendations
- Ability to frame business opportunities and develop clear, concise and compelling executive-ready communications to various audience groups with minimal mentorship
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience; including 2+ years in consulting, client services and/or pricing advisory or strategy
- MBA or Masters in Finance, Economics, Math preferred
- A strategic problem solver who is proactive in providing valuable insights and strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience in working with analytical teams and translating outputs into impactful insights
- Knowledge of pricing and promotion dynamics, multi-tier pricing environment, long-term impact of pricing decisions
- Sophisticated Excel and PowerPoint skills required. Experience working with Tableau and/or other data visualization preferred.
