We're expanding our team and seeking a seasoned Senior Account Manager to drive growth, manage key accounts, and lead our sales efforts in new territories.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Account Manager, you will play a crucial role in our sales team, focusing on territories and acquiring and managing high-value accounts. You will leverage your energy industry expertise and sales acumen to build and nurture relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met while achieving our business objectives.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and potential clients within the assigned territory or industry.
- Conduct market research to understand client needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential and existing clients.
- Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits while ensuring client satisfaction.
- Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Engage with federal, state, and local governments to secure bids for energy and sustainability improvement projects.
- Forge partnerships with local and national Energy Services Companies (ESCOs) that serve large and medium-sized kWh customers.
- Serve as the local, on-site representative for both the program and the company, collaborating with ESCOs and their contractors to promote program participation and address any challenges.
- Maintain thorough documentation of interactions to comply with program requirements. Provide regular updates and feedback to program staff and offer guidance on program requirements and offerings.
- Represent the company at national, state, and local conferences and events attended by potential customers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven track record of at least 8-10 years in direct sales, with a focus on account management and business development, preferably in the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of sales principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport with clients and manage complex accounts effectively.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
- High level of self-motivation, integrity, resilience, and a results-oriented mindset.
