Fusion Pharmaceuticals, a member of the AstraZeneca Group, is a clinical-stage oncology company focused on developing next-generation radioconjugates (RCs) as precision medicines. Fusion connects alpha particle emitting isotopes to various targeting molecules to selectively deliver the alpha emitting payloads to tumors. Fusion’s clinical portfolio includes: FPI-2265 targeting prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) for metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer currently in a Phase 2 trial; FPI-1434 targeting insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor currently in a Phase 1 trial; FPI-2059, a small molecule targeting neurotensin receptor 1 (NTSR1), currently in a Phase 1 trial; and FPI-2068, a bispecific IgG-based EGFR-cMET targeted radioconjugate currently in a Phase 1 trial. In addition, Fusion is pursuing combination programs between RCs and DNA Damage Response Inhibitors (DDRis) and immune-oncology agents. Fusion has a fully operational Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant state-of-the-art radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility to meet supply demand for Fusion's growing pipeline of RCs.
Fusion is looking to hire in our Boston, Massachusetts location a Senior Director, IT. The correct candidate selected will provide strategic and operational IT direction to business functions across the company. The Senior Director will forge close partnerships with business stakeholders to generate roadmaps for solutions that generate business value and adhere to IT objectives and standards along with being accountable for the selection, development, deployment, maintenance and production support of systems in the IT portfolio. The Senior Director ensures GxP compliance and adherence to best cybersecurity and data privacy practices. The Senior Director will be the primary point of contact on all topics related to IT and should have experience as a business partner to some or all of the following functions: quality, supply chain, clinical development and clinical manufacturing.
The Senior Director will partner with these groups to develop and execute against a functional technology roadmap, support existing enterprise applications and build effective and compliant data flows, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g. GxP and 21 CFR Part 11). In addition, the Senior Director will facilitate the adoption of effective data governance and lifecycle management processes, including the adoption of new technology to support these practices as needed. The Senior Director will play a central role in the transition from the company’s existing systems to those of AstraZeneca, our parent company. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for the designated user groups on all topics related to IT and will partner with colleagues in IT to resolve issues and deliver solutions. The Senior Director will also ensure that IT-sponsored initiatives and standards are tailored to meet the needs of the business functions and are successfully adopted.
This position reports to the Chief Legal Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, vision and direction related to the implementation and operation of technology solutions
- Partner with business functions to strategize, define and ensure effective implementation of IT solutions; apply strong business justification, financial impact assessment & ROI analysis
- Prioritize, oversee and manage a portfolio of IT projects in support of business goals. Ensure delivery of projects within determined timelines & budgets
- Drive the standardization of IT solutions across the portfolio and simplified architecture in achieving overall operational cost savings
- Canvas the marketplace and proactively bring business and technology innovations to further the realization of business strategy.
- Build strategic partnerships with key technology vendors and service providers to implement and support systems
- Manage stakeholder satisfaction with IT services; also educate, sensitize and manage the expectation of business stakeholders to IT fundamentals, realities and challenges
- Act as the IT owner for all IT systems and collaborate with functional system owners and colleagues in IT to evolve the support model based on the needs of the users and the overall IT strategy.
- Manage vendor relationships
- Coordinate with our colleagues at AstraZeneca to ensure a smooth IT transition to systems and processes
Requirements:
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience working with automated GxP manufacturing systems in the life sciences domain
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent
- 5-7 years directly managing people, leading teams, projects, and programs, and directing the allocation of resource, preferably in an IT function
- Outstanding leadership, influencing, project management, negotiation, planning and organizational change management skills.
- Personal leadership qualities that inspire trust, respect, credibility and confidence of peers and colleagues
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to set the context and present on complex subjects to senior management in a clear and concise manner
- Extensive experience working cross-functionally and building collaborative working relationships, interfacing effectively with all levels of business and IT personnel
- Results oriented; strong adherence to timelines and budgets required
- Significant direct experience developing, deploying and supporting manufacturing, shop floor, data historian and automation systems.
- Knowledge of GxP compliance and best data integrity practices required
