Director or Manager - Project Engineering
Position Description
Origis is seeking a Director or Manager - Project Engineering who will be a dedicated resource, the technical lead, and main point of contact for all engineering and technical matters on our utility-scale solar and BESS projects nationwide, with a focus on the U.S. South-east region. This individual will lead and own all Project Engineering efforts at the pre-construction and construction project phases. These efforts will support the EPC Team during contracting, initiation of project financing, detailed engineering (30%/60%/90%/IFC), and commissioning engineering support. This role will be an individual contributor, reporting to the Senior Director of Project Engineering.

Key Responsibilities
- Select, engage, coordinate, and lead all technical conversations with Owner Engineers (OE).
- Lead, manage, and guide (OE) throughout 30%, 60%, 90%, IFC designs and RFIs from EPC contractors.
- Manage and coordinate 30%, 60%, 90%, IFC design review with OEs / SMEs & other internal reviewers ensuring evaluation of design risks/flaws, and Value Engineering (VE) opportunities impacting project design, energy yield, and project cost.
- Lead and coordinate all engineering/technical conversations meetings with EPC contractor & BESS supplier/integrator during the project execution phase.
- Familiarize with all technical exhibits/requirements/milestones in the LGIA, PPA ensuring EPC Team tracks milestone and deliverables.
- Inform and consult with the PMs to understand the commercial implications of technical changes to respective projects.
- Manage assembly of technical scope documents to support initiation of project financing.
- Provide technical support to Project Management and Finance teams during technical discussions with Independent Engineers (IE) throughout project financing.
- Support technical initiatives and adoption of technologies on projects.
- Contribute to refining and maintaining Origis design standards and technical specifications.
- Evaluate forward looking and innovative approaches for best in market design, technology, and cost/construction considerations.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external Owner's Engineers and external engineering consultants.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7-10+ years' experience in utility scale PV and BESS design.
- PV and BESS constructability experience in multiple geographic regions.
- Understanding of design optimization and maximizing values of utility scale solar and BESS projects.
- Knowledge of all PV technical disciplines (Electrical, Civil, Structural, SCADA, HV, etc.).
- Strong understanding of PV cost stack and how design considerations impact project LCOE throughout the project development and design process.
- Ability to effectively communicate between technical and commercial minded team members.

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds at times.

Location Austin, TX or Miami, FL (preferred). (Remote/ hybrid location may be considered)
Travel Up to 20% travel required, as necessary.
