OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the National Director of Enrollment, the Senior Director of Student Recruitment will be responsible for carrying the recruitment vision and strategy for the Enrollment function forward and ensuring seamless execution of all recruitment activities. In partnership with National Enrollment leadership and the Enrollment Operations team, you will ensure that a high-quality recruitment vision and long-term plan is in place to drive goals and outcomes across all Enrollment staff.

As a team leader, you will employ superior communication and relationship-building skills to enhance the Year Up United program through successful team operations, community relationships, and other internal and external partnerships. In addition, you will be someone who is highly detail-oriented and has practical experience in collaborating across functions and geographies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruitment Strategy
- Set vision and lead the team in implementing a successful recruitment strategic plan.
- Forward-thinking to assess, design, and build a recruitment vision that meets our growth plans and need to scale.
- Support, consult, and leverage data with Enrollment leadership to ensure high-quality and consistent events and resources are being utilized at the regional and site level.
- Design and implement a cohesive strategy for how to maximize collaboration and partnerships with national functions such as Marketing and Scalable Solutions.
- Integrate the learnings from ongoing assessment, research, evaluation, and best practices to continuously improve recruitment strategies and outreach processes across new launch models.
- Manage TargetX platform usage to track and interpret analytics regarding pipeline development.
- Manage the team to lead partnerships with external stakeholders and national organizations.

Leadership & Management
- In partnership with the National Director of Enrollment, define the strategic vision & priorities for the Enrollment function with a lens on recruitment.
- Act as an additional layer of support to Enrollment leadership, including keeping an eye out on trends & themes, identifying opportunities and proposing initiatives as needed.
- Lead, coach, manage, develop, and support all direct reports, with a focus on professional development and creating an inclusive team with a strong sense of belonging.
- Establish annual strategic goals and set direction for recruitment function.
- Proactively collaborate and align initiatives across Enrollment.
- Participate in bi-monthly cross-site calls, as well as the creation and management of systems for best-practice sharing across the Year Up United network.
Data and Performance Management
- Use real-time data to report on progress towards goals, provide ongoing pipeline management (i.e., conversion of prospects and ROI for activities), and course correct recruitment activities and strategy as necessary.
Site Team/Learning Community Member
- Serve as a coach/mentor for a small number of current students.
- Join and sometimes facilitate weekly group sessions with students.
- Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of work experience in a high growth organization, including at least 5 years of staff management experience preferred.
- Experience in Recruitment and Admissions, ideally in education or non-profit setting (though all experience is welcome regardless of sector).
- Ability to use critical thinking and analytical skills in all aspects of the work to allow for continuous improvement/refinement of all processes and strategies.
- Entrepreneurial, resourceful and persistent with demonstrated success managing and inspiring individuals and teams toward ambitious, measurable results.
- Strategic thinker with a clear understanding and comfort with data and how it informs programming and performance; one who can recognize trends, analyze data, and drive strategic recommendations.
- Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate a wide variety of people; intuitive, empathic communicator who can quickly build rapport, trust, and credibility.
- Significant relationship and/or client management experience; excellent executive presence and client building skills, with focus on details and follow through.
- Experience with Salesforce.com preferred.

Salary Band 10 (Internal)
Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Year Up United has established salary ranges for each of our sites, which allows us to pay employees competitively, equitably and consistently in different geographic markets. For roles in which the location is listed as flexible, the range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
