The Role
The Role will provide expert guidance and support to software engineers and leaders within the data organization. This role is crucial in shaping the future of our data warehousing and business intelligence solutions, particularly in the context of managing large-scale data in cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in creating and implementing best practices for data teams, as well as driving software development standards across the organization. Additionally, the candidate should be able to translate high-level business goals into actionable projects and deliver results that align with the organizational strategy.

The Main Responsibilities
- Solution Development: Lead efforts in designing and organizing large data sets, ensuring scalability and efficiency within our data architecture.
- Project Leadership: Translate high-level goals into detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and timely delivery.
- Unified Data Architecture: Play a key role in implementing Databricks and lakehouse architectures, ensuring seamless integration and scalability across the organization.
- Technology Integration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and adapt existing solutions to meet evolving business needs.
- Standards Implementation: Develop and enforce best practices for the data team, focusing on ETL processes, data quality, and security.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation and visuals for software engineers and business stakeholders, ensuring clarity in technical requirements, architecture designs, and development.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 7-10 years of experience in data architecture, with a focus on managing large-scale data environments in cloud settings.
- Technical Skills: Strong command of SQL, data visualization techniques, and experience with Jupyter notebooks for data analysis.
- Innovation: Ability to design and implement cutting-edge solutions that align with business goals.
- Pipeline Expertise: Extensive experience in designing, building, and managing modern data pipelines that integrate diverse data sources into a consolidated and scalable database architecture.
- Leadership Skills: Experience in leading projects, setting standards, and mentoring software developers.
- Communication: Excellent ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable plans for diverse teams.
- Strategic Vision: A proactive approach to data management, always looking for opportunities to improve processes and implement new technologies.
Compensation
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

- $123,210 - $164,280 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI
- $129,080 - $172,100 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
