In this role, you’ll help stabilize and optimize a growing business, ensuring operational excellence while building a cohesive, motivated team. Your leadership will keep the business on track, providing consistency and ensuring no wheels come off along the way.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Success in this role means creating operational stability, improving financial forecasting, and implementing consistent processes. You’ll elevate the team, hold people accountable, and ensure the company is prepared for growth, scaling efficiently while staying ahead of challenges.
CEO Partnership & Communication
- Organize and streamline daily operations, preparing high-level summaries and roll-up reviews for CEO oversight
- Communicate team issues and concerns effectively to the CEO, addressing both operational and human elements
- Engage in deep, thoughtful discussions beyond numbers, bringing a balanced perspective on team dynamics and performance
- Support strategic hiring decisions, including for regional managers and corporate staff, providing a second opinion when needed
- Participate in the long-term vision by forecasting and staying proactive, ensuring the CEO is always aware of upcoming challenges
Team Leadership & Accountability
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Develop training initiatives to ensure team members are equipped with the right skills and knowledge.
- Follow through on tasks and projects, holding the team accountable for results.
- Ensure managers understand and utilize KPIs and financial data effectively.
- Provide guidance to team members without micromanaging, allowing them to take ownership of their responsibilities.
- Collaborate with regional managers to address process issues and empower them to manage incidents directly.
- Lead by example, setting high standards for performance and accountability
Data-Driven Operations
- Conduct market research, review reports, and maintain an acute awareness of economic trends
- Analyze property performance data, staying informed about the statuses of properties and reporting regularly
- Use data to reduce delinquencies, increase occupancies, and optimize operations
- Ensure consistent practices across all properties to create one cohesive operational unit
- Oversee and understand P&L management, ensuring close collaboration with accounting for accurate reporting
Crisis & Scalability Management
- Take a proactive, prepared approach to operational issues to reduce crisis management, such as Payables
- Develop operational strategies to scale property portfolios from 2-3 properties to 10-20 while maintaining efficiency
- Identify discrepancies and performance gaps, resolving issues efficiently to maintain growth
- Balance reactive problem-solving with long-term initiatives, ensuring preparedness for future challenges
- Lead the team in times of crisis (e.g., major incidents or market changes), ensuring consistency and emotional intelligence are applied

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 10+ years of executive operational leadership within the property management industry
- Experienced leadership with a proven success of scaling a company over $1M in revenue across 30+ properties
- Has successfully managed a diversified portfolio
- Deep understanding of the property management industry, including leasing, management, and maintenance
- P&L management experience
Preferred
- Experience in expense management, such as rolled expense management, purchasing, and/or preferred buyer programs
Desired
- Community leadership experience, such as volunteering, participating in economic boards, or managing HOAs
- Participation in industry-specific courses, certifications, or associations

Salary: $160k – $200k plus incentive bonus
