COMPENSATION:$109,971 – $134,714, Home Office Grade 11

THE OPPORTUNITY
YES Prep needs a dynamic Managing Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment with a diverse set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, build transformative relationships, and eliminate educational inequities to advance social justice.
To put it simply, you will lead strategic outreach strategies to fill the seats for all schools in YES Prep secondary and elementary schools. You will be able to experience the launch of new schools in new neighborhoods and continue to lead strategies to fill seats in our existing schools. You will also be able to influence strategies to keep our current students enrolled through their grade-level student pipeline.
You will lead the recruitment and enrollment strategies to fill the seats and increase access to quality education to all students in Houston. You will build paths of opportunity by analyzing enrollment trends and designing strategies to fill the seats for existing and new schools. You will lead cross functional collaborations with executive team and other leadership roles within the organization to align enrollment expectations and meet targets set for the year. You will lead with persistence and curiosity while enjoying cross-collaboration with schools and Home Office teams.
THE ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:
Drive the student recruitment and enrollment strategy of YES Prep:
- Partnering with C Suite (the executive team), and other senior organizational leaders, in setting the student recruitment and enrollment vision, strategy and goals that align with YES Prep’s mission, vision, values, and strategic growth plans.
- Achieving the goal of adding 5,000+ new students to YES Prep each year by Filling Every Seat.
- Leading the Student and Recruitment and Enrollment team of 2 directors who is responsible for achieving the application, new enrollment and new student persistence goals to meet YES Prep’s annual enrollment goals.
- Serving as a close partner to the Chief External Officer and Chief Financial Officer on all enrollment activities, including providing outstanding preparation and materials for major meetings.
- Overseeing Systemwide data trackers to analyze enrollment trends year over year.
- Providing regular, timely, accurate reports on enrollment progress to the YES Prep C Suite, (cross-functional leaders), and other audiences.
- Managing the process and consistent execution of system-wide student recruitment and enrollment activities.
- Leading the process to ideate, plan and execute large scale training for school base teams leading enrollment.
- Collaborating with all the student support systems that impact enrollment to drive efficiency of resources and maximize enrollment strategies.
- Managing vendor and consultant relationships to yield the highest value to YES Prep.
- Serving as a liaison within the External Leadership Team and other Home Office Teams in relation to student experience strategies and school’s growth.
Serve as a member of the External Leadership Team and facilitate cross collaboration across the Home Office.
Serve as a high-profile external leader of YES Prep:
- Communicating and deliver the value proposition of YES Prep to all community members.
- Deeply knowing the YES Prep program, mission, impact and story and align to all student recruitment and enrollment efforts.
- Dedicating time and effort to relationship building, externally facing events and opportunities to tell YES Prep’s story to communities that are connected to YES Prep
Create a culture of student and family recruitment at YES Prep:
- Leading the Focus School Program to ensure that campuses that need priority support are set up for success
- Developing messaging, clarity, and energy around the importance of bringing more families to YES Prep
- Facilitating the cultural change from low engagement efforts to high engagement efforts for student recruitment in the communities that need it
- Collaborating with Managing Director of Community Engagement & Advocacy to design strategic outreach strategies for new school launch and family engagement
- Building relationships with key community partners to support Recruitment Strategies Systemwide
Lead structured training and data enrollment systems:
- Overseeing all student recruitment and lottery efforts towards high achieving results and drive for accountability in every stage of the enrollment pipeline
- Designing system-wide trainings to ensure seamless onboarding of new students and families through the support of school team directly connecting to families
- Working with service functions such as transportation to analyze key process components impacting enrollment. Processes include, but are not limited to school boundary design, transportation registration, and waitlists.
- Conducting customer service audits for new schools, elementary schools and secondary schools to ensure enrollment information is shared cohesively system-wide.
- Leading with a growth mindset to set proactive strategies to mitigate the threats impacting enrollment in the next 3-5 years.

THE MUST HAVES
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- 8 Minimal years of experience needed in this role, specifically in school operations, sales, and recruitment
- Data analysis mastery to drive strategy and design mechanisms of accountability against targets
- Proven sales or recruitment experience
- Proven school operations experience
- Experience developing and leading a team of recruitment professionals to ambitious achieve goals
- Established history of relationships with individuals and communities
- Event planning experience
- Ability to work outside of normal hours and on weekends; nights and weekends are required in this role
- Excellent communication skills and presentation ability
- Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress

THE PERKS
- Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.
Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
