Innovation in payments means evolving our solutions in alignment with how people connect with brands and one another, seeking to understand and contextualize payments & stored value where and how those connections occur. To achieve that vision, Blackhawk is transitioning its physical distribution capabilities to a digitally accessible platform, enabling brands to win new customers, increase engagement and spend, and leverage stored value payments to increase loyalty and incentivize behavior.
This role reports to the VP of Product for Global Core Services and sits alongside our developer experience & data platforms, as well as our global content network. It is responsible for several important outcomes (and associated example metrics):
- Advancing payment acceptance & acquiring gateway services to match consumer & business tender types across the BHN global footprint (checkout conversion, acquiring processing cost)
- Evolve robust card & account processing and issuance capabilities to create new consumer products in the prepaid, wallet, RAN and closed loop segments (product types per region, product enrollment, cost per issuance)
- Expand the power of BHN’s network through its transaction switch, POS retail integrations, network schema, processor/service provider connections (network adoption, transaction cost)
- Extend settlement & billing for versatile client offerings including funding management and real-time payments for B2B, innovative pricing, and ultimately offer services as an embeddable option for developers to leverage as a stand-alone SaaS solution (time to order release, cost of funds)
Responsibilities:
- Financial product offerings for consumers including evolution of prepaid, RAN, & closed loop cards, digital accounts and wallets as a service, disbursement products, and digital spend enablement (in physical and digital storefronts)
- Payment tender offerings that still meet market needs for global consumers and businesses in the evolving digital payments landscape including APMs, FedNow, Mobile Wallets, Points, etc.
- Partners & Vendor selection to aid in consumer product offerings, speed to market, and experimentation
- Network value measurements such as spend, product penetration, and lifetime value
- Strategic partnerships & strategies to support global client’s settlement & billing/currency management securely & profitably
- Expansion of network to support industry standards, platform and SMB product drivers (self-serve, embeddability, etc.)
- Drive a servicing mindset and solutions to empower BHN and clients to drive the full product experience for end-to-end customer delight & recurring usage
- Ownership and leadership of product strategy globally, integrating product strategies across BHN’s commerce, incentive, & consumer solutions
- Lead efforts on market awareness and customer centric design, partnering with GTM, Product Marketing and others to bring new products to market
- Balance scalability, cost-effectiveness, and optimization of platform and products for a global distribution of product offerings
- Define business cases to grow Blackhawk Network globally. Collaborate with executive management—within product, legal, compliance, marketing, and other functions (globally) - to develop vision and prioritize growth strategies.
- Establish business outcomes to achieve, product metrics & SLAs to drive growth.
- Conduct due diligence on international prioritization for product rollout and define product features necessary to succeed in those geographies
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated track record of payment & transaction processing, issuing, acquiring or settlement expertise with broad knowledge of the payment & fintech industry.
- Measuring customer lifetime value, cross-sell and attrition
- 12-15+ years of total work experience, across a broad range of technical services, client and consumer applications, or financial areas
- Deep understanding of the payments landscape; Direct experience with Visa and/or MC is a significant plus.
- Entrepreneurial, independent mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively interface with senior leaders at partners and internally
- International experience and / or awareness of international payments
- Engaging leadership to drive product-led mindset into organizational culture with enthusiasm
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Post Graduate is a plus
Benefits:
Salary Range for California Residents Only: $194,280.00 to $287,000.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Blackhawk Network offers benefits including 401k with employer match, medical, dental, vision, 12 paid holidays in the year 2024, 1 hour of sick pay accrual for every 30 hours worked, parental leave, life insurance, disability insurance, accident and illness insurance, health and dependent care flexible spending accounts, wellness benefits, and flexible time off for all full-time employees.
