A law firm located in Greensboro, NC is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Trial Attorney to handle and develop strategies for complex personal injury cases. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a collaborative environment. The role requires a compassionate approach to client interactions, with confidence and poise in the courtroom, and a deep understanding of legal and medical data to strategize and present compelling arguments.
Duties:
- Handle and develop strategies for complex personal injury cases.
- Work collaboratively with a team and contribute to a supportive team environment.
- Connect with clients compassionately to understand their stories and needs.
- Manage all case-related settings, including mediations, arbitrations, depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations to guide clients effectively.
- Examine legal and medical data to determine insurance coverage, liability, and damages.
- Conduct thorough research and manage case preparation for various events.
- Develop and present settlement brochures, strategies, and arguments.
- Ensure legal compliance concerning disbursements and settlement funds.
- Utilize technology effectively to perform job duties.
- Establish and build relationships with other professionals to enhance brand recognition and client service.
Requirements:
- JD degree from an accredited college or university.
- Membership in the North Carolina State Bar is required; additional State Bar memberships are a plus.
- Minimum of 10+ years of civil litigation experience with at least 15 cases tried to verdict in North Carolina Superior Court or United States District Court (or the equivalent in other jurisdictions).
- Proven experience as a Lead Attorney in complex personal injury cases, including trucking and/or catastrophic injury cases.
- Preferable affiliation with or membership in specialized trade groups (e.g., Defense Research Institute (DRI), National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys, NC Trucking Association, Trucking Industry Defense Association, Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys).
