What is this role?
As a Senior Platform Engineer at Cirkul, Inc., you'll play a pivotal role in advancing our Platform Engineering Team. You will lead the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of our software platform, crucial for supporting both our direct-to-consumer website and internal software products. Working collaboratively with diverse teams including business analysts, data scientists, and fellow engineers, you'll innovate solutions that elevate consumer experiences and optimize our operational efficiencies.

- Making Decisions: Making decisions includes evaluating and implementing new technologies and frameworks to improve platform capabilities and infrastructure.
- Cultivating Relationships: Cultivating relationships involves collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to align platform development with overall product strategy.
- Instilling Trust: Instilling trust requires ensuring platform security, compliance, and reliability, safeguarding sensitive data and protecting against vulnerabilities.
- Customer Focus: Customer focus involves creating innovative solutions that enhance consumer experiences on our DTC website and streamline operational processes.
What background should you have?
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend systems and platform development including experience in AWS services, devops/SRE practices, and proficiency in Python or similar languages.
- Proven experience with designing and building scalable and high-performance distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, C#) and frameworks.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
- Proficiency in API design and development, including RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Strong understanding of database systems, both SQL and NoSQL, and data modeling principles.
- Experience with system monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Strong leadership skills, project management experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are essential.
