This position manages the strategic planning and overall operations of the MDPH-funded Local Public Health Institute of Massachusetts (LPHI). LPHI's mission is to improve public health and preparedness capabilities and the health of the residents of the Commonwealth by creating, implementing, and sustaining workforce development activities for local public health and other public health system partners. The incumbent facilitates collaboration and communication with BUSPH Lifelong Learning Office (LLO) and LPHI partners and stakeholders; manages the work of staff, consultants, and subject matter experts; organizes and supports Project Officer and LPHI Advisory Council meetings; facilitates, develops and/or reviews LPHI trainings; assures the issuance of continuing education units; oversees the LPHI website and learning management system (LMS); and completes required reports. They also represent LPHI in local, state, and national discussions with the other agencies and organizations involved in workforce development.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree (Masters preferred) with 3-5 years of direct experience including 2+ years of management.
- Experience in project management required.
- Background in developing training or professional development activities and familiarity with distance education technology and software required.
Required Experience:
- BS in Engineering required.
- 10 to 15 years of experience with 5+ years of experience leading projects and/or teams within the food and beverage industry including some corporate exposure or tenure.
- Protein experience preferred.
- Experience working in a plant environment is helpful.
- Working knowledge of, and hands-on experience within various engineering disciplines.
- Accepting of out-of-town, overnight travel (may be sustained depending upon the project and geographic location).
