A great UHY client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have their CPA, non-profit experience, strong finance and accounting experience, and leadership experience.
The Chief Financial Officer position is a hybrid position with 2-3 days onsite per week. This is a client direct hire position.
Chief Financial Officer Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Management:
- Develop and implement financial strategies in alignment with organizational goals.
- Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Monitor financial performance and provide timely reports to the Board and senior management.
Financial Operations and Compliance:
- Manage all accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and tax filings.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
Risk Management and Audit:
- Assess and manage financial risks and opportunities.
- Coordinate annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors.
- Implement and monitor effective internal audit processes.
Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues.
- Advise the Board, Executive Director, and senior management on financial planning.
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the senior management team.
Non-Profit Expertise:
- Apply knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with donor restrictions, grants management, and reporting.
Chief Financial Officer Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of accounting and finance experience.
- Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial management role within a non-profit organization.
- Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting, financial management, and reporting standards.
- Experience in managing audits and working with external auditors.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- High level of integrity, ethics, and commitment to the mission of the organization.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $180,000.00 per year
