POSITION TITLE: Chief Financial Officer

REPORTS TO: President, Chief Executive Officer
Who we are looking for: As a member of the company’s executive team, you are responsible for providing leadership and coordination of all financial functions with a focus on optimizing the performance of the businesses, as well as assisting the owner with personal investment strategy and analyses. We are looking for a candidate with a strong cultural fit – specifically a work hard, play hard, open, and honest, no politics professional who is a very good communicator and is results-based, not a micro-manager, who rolls up their sleeves when necessary to get it done. Capable of working with a strong results-oriented, enterprising founder and CEO of a 38-year-old international manufacturer and distributor of furniture with real estate investments.
Leadership:
- Possess an entrepreneurial mindset with the confidence to propose new directions for the execution strategy in an expected high growth environment
- Take a leadership role in establishing a financial plan supporting the overall strategic plan to always remain profitable and take timely action to maintain liquidity.
- Demonstrate a strong desire and ability to work directly with operations teams and act as a mentor to team members.
- Possess strong presentation skills in one-on-one executive briefings and to an audience both in person and on the phone.
- Provide sound financial and tax advice, in consultation with outside specialists, to the owner.
Strategic:
- Demonstrate excellence in updating rigorous and disciplined financial and operational controls, management systems, and performance measures / metrics that benchmark performance and create accountability.
- Vision and ability to steer the strategy with the management team to stay ahead of shifts in the market, yet able to analyze and address financial aspects of current tactics
- Experience acting as a forward-thinking analyst of the business, broader market, and the competitive landscape and refine incentive compensation plans for sales people and staff.
- Partner with the management team by fully understanding the business, bringing a deep analytical and financial perspective to the leadership team in order to further improve the strategy and the tactics to execute on the strategy
- Able to recommend and make adjustments to the business so it can make money during any slowdown in business activity.
- Provide direction and help negotiate supply chain contracts for timely and cost-effective delivery of furniture
Job Responsibilities:
· Directly supervise and act as a back-up to the Controller to assure compliance with all company reporting and tax requirements, as well as efficient processes with internal controls.
· Directly supervise IT and HR Directors to maximize organizational efficiency and required information to manage the company.
· Enhance and/or develop and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems and processes that will improve overall operation and effectiveness of the company.
· Primary company representative for banking, insurance, and external accountants.
· As a primary member of the Executive Committee, participate in the development and execution of the company’s Strategic Plan and Annual Financial Plan.
· Responsible for oversight and administration of the company’s 401(k) plan.
· Responsible for coordinating annual tax return preparation, payment of sales taxes for all entities and, as required, the shareholder’s tax return. Coordinate annual business insurance renewal process.
· Responsible for special projects that are financial in nature. Support Executive Committee on financial and operational matters as requested.
· Responsible for advising shareholder and management team of financial concerns and generation of ideas to enhance outcomes, processes and operations of the company.
· Administratively oversee offices in China, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
· Oversee the administration of a Captive Insurance Company, real estate entities, property management and fleet requirements.
· Approve pricing on customer contracts including GAS contracts under the FAR regulation with the assistance of outside Counsel.
Job Requirements:
· B.S. in Accounting or Finance with a strong record of accomplishment and demonstrated intellect. MBA is a plus.
· 10-15+ years of progressive experience along with previous experience as a Controller, VP of Finance or CFO role preferably in a manufacturing and warehousing / distribution environment. Experience with “The Toyota Way” of management would be a plus.
· CPA and/or CMA required or equivalent experience
· Strong ability to negotiate with customers, banks, vendors, attorneys and suppliers.

Pay: $185,000.00 - $210,000.00 per year
