Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity to join a very successful, growing FMCG business in the Uxbridge area in the role of Head of International Sustainability. The focus of this role is to develop and implement the organisation's sustainability strategy on an International scale, considering both global company objectives and local requirements.
There is great scope to make an impact, effect change and have strategic input in this role. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team you will be instrumental in deploying business strategy to enable the achievement of the Annual Operating Plan, both in regard to financial targets and strategic goals. You will ensure that strategy remains customer focused and linked to the organisation's Purpose at all times.
Responsibilities will include;
- Drive strategy in relation to sustainable sourcing of products, development of sustainable packaging and carbon neutrality
- Work with relevant teams to develop sustainability plans which drive competitive advantage, including the coordination of training material and material for customer engagement
- Drive activities which deliver against the organisation's commitments to International Plastic Pacts
- Support new product opportunities including routes to market, cost reduction, supplier relationship management etc, identifying future and emerging risks
- Identify process improvements and opportunities to improve sustainability practices, such as ESG reporting on packaging and carbon emissions initiatives
- Keep abreast of Good Practice, Government Regulations and developments within the FMCG industry
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience within Operational Strategy and Sustainability
- Have FMCG experience or alternatively come from a background working with packaged retail products
- Possess good knowledge of sustainability practices and regulations
- Possess excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence
