Position Summary:
Oversight and 24/7 hour responsibility/accountability of 16-bed geriatric psychiatric care unit. In collaboration with the CNO, evaluates the quality of patient care using TQM principles and tools, monitors and reports trends in patient population/acuity and manages human resources accordingly. Designs, implements and evaluates innovative systems that support efficient delivery of patient care, develops and adheres to approved budget, assesses staff competence and educational needs in relation to changing patient needs via medical record review, patient and family visits, physician feedback and periodic visits to off-shifts.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical and professional practice issues and processes.
- BLS/ACLS Certification
- Minimum of (5) years of inpatient behavioral health experience preferred.
- Required Master degree in Human Services related field with behavioral health experience preferred.
- Adheres to DMH, DPH, TJC licensing and operational standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and work collaboratively among the multidisciplinary team.
- Analytic ability to solve clinical issues and conduct quality improvement initiatives/programs.
