We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner with expertise in Geriatric Behavioral Healthcare to work with a comprehensive, multi-faceted private psychiatric practice consisting of over thirty clinicians serving office, nursing home, and hospital patients in the Metropolitan Boston area for more than 25 years.
The staff consists of clinical nurse specialists, licensed social workers, nurse practitioners, psychologists, psychiatrists, and licensed mental health counselors who supply quality, personalized behavioral health treatments to those recovering from trauma, life-changing events, or addictions.
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide continuity of care for an established caseload of elderly patients residing in nursing homes. Skill in working with a complex population is required for this position. The position allows for independence and serves as a key member of the clinical team. All clients are treated within the context of a treatment team.
Focus primarily on the population with identified or suspected behavioral/mental health conditions and incorporate psychiatric expertise into the medical management plan to mitigate any negative impacts that behavioral conditions can have on overall health and well-being.
Responsibilities include providing evaluation & treatment services for high-functioning clientele, prescribing and managing medications, and offering appropriate services while communicating changes at the first available opportunity in emergent situations.
A flexible schedule is available; the provider will oversee patients at 1-2 nursing homes with the same schedule (no running all over the place). No on-call or weekend responsibilities are included in this position. Psychiatrist supervision is provided.
All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
