Berkshire of Hathaway Homestate Companies, Workers Compensation Division, has an opening for a Manager of Business Applications. This role is responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise-wide business applications and will work closely with key business leaders and IT teams to ensure that applications align with strategic objectives and support operational efficiency.
Reports to Director of Business Applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- APPLICATION IMPLEMENTATION
- Manage the successful implementation of new business applications, including project planning, resource allocation, and testing.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements and ensure that applications meet their needs.
- Oversee the integration of new applications with existing systems and infrastructure.
APPLICATION MAINTENANCE- Manage the ongoing maintenance and support of business applications, including upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure applications are operating efficiently and effectively.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for application support and maintenance.
APPLICATION OPTIMIZATION- Identify opportunities to improve the performance, usability, and functionality of business applications.
- Implement process improvements and best practices to enhance application effectiveness.
- Conduct regular reviews of application usage and performance metrics.
TEAM MANAGEMENT- Lead and mentor a team of business applications analysts and specialists.
- Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure team members have the resources and support they need to succeed.
- Develop and implement performance metrics and standards.
VENDOR MANAGEMENT- Manage relationships with application vendors and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure vendor performance meets contractual obligations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
- CERTIFICATIONS: Certification(s) in project management, business analysis, and/or ITIL a plus.
- EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 10 years of experience in business applications management, with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience. Demonstrable track record of successfully implementing and managing business applications. Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, RUP). Experience with specific business applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, HCM).
- SKILLS: Solid understanding of business processes and requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Knowledgeable with ITSM / ITIL frameworks and processes. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications.
