Position Overview:
The Sales Director is responsible for directing and driving sales across all Healthcare accounts, for Amcor Rigid Packaging North America (ARPNA) Specialty Containers business volumes. Leading a Team of Account Managers and Sales Associates, the Sales Director will develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy with accountability for attaining above market growth in top-line and bottom-line terms. Additionally, by working directly with Specialty Containers Commercial Excellence, it is expected that this position is able to achieve significant Account penetration in growing the Healthcare segments across North America. Development of strategic and value-added relationships with key customers will be critical to advancing the Healthcare short and longer-term growth objectives.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and cascade Healthcare strategy to Account Managers and support execution of action plans, targeted at achieving above-market growth
- Develop and implement strategic account plans in order to accelerate growth opportunities within the assigned account(s)
- Develop strong relationships with strategic Customer Accounts beyond Procurement to support customer satisfaction and long-term business development
- Help facilitate 3rd Party decoration when needed to improve value proposition to end customers
- Develop a detailed sales forecast / budget in accordance with the annual planning cycle and ARPNA's overall growth objectives
- Set appropriate pricing strategies in accordance with both internal and external market dynamics
- Facilitate and model cross-functional cooperation to proactively address customer needs and issues
- Manage and develop a team of commercial direct reports
- Develop, lead and execute negotiations and resulting contracts
- Support implementation of ValuePlus activities with direct reports
- Provide local development and project support for remote team members
- Perform monthly and special reports and analyses, as necessary, to ensure the Healthcare accounts meet budgeted expectations and recommend alternate courses of action when necessary
- Ability to collaborate and lead committee with cross functional peers (OPS, Quality, Sales)
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree Sales or related field
- Master's degree preferred
- Minimum experience of 15 years successful sales and marketing experience, preferably with complex, multi-national, national and regional accounts in the packaging industry
- Excellent team management skills
- Both internal and external relationship building and communication across all functional areas of the company, particularly operations, finance, customer service and R&D
- Strong communications skills - spoken, written, presentation; capable of presenting to high-level audiences
- Must be competitive, with a strong sense of personal accountability, strong leadership and negotiation skills, and charisma
- Proven track record leading a sales team and driving growth and accountability. - Ability to create a world class organization.
- Ability to think beyond the next quarter and plan in accordance with the company's broader strategic objectives
- Ability to analyze the account and identify growth opportunities, identifying the appropriate resources in order to capitalize on them
- Extremely proactive and aggressive in seeking new business opportunities
- Excellent computer skills for word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
