As the Director of Finance, you will serve as a key member of the leadership team, providing financial oversight for the organization offering insight, management and recommendations to day-to-day financial operations. Reporting directly to the Executive Team, the Director of Finance will be responsible for leading a large team of Revenue Cycle and Accounting Staff, ensuring financial integrity, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, financial expertise, and a proven track record of driving financial performance in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Lead the annual operating and capital budgeting, and forecasting processes, collaborating with the Executive Team and department heads to align financial goals with operational priorities.
- Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to Executive Team to inform decision-making and drive business performance.
- Trouble-shooting issues and monitoring budget compliance throughout the year.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Team and board of directors to empower superior operational performance, improving infrastructure scalability, and providing proactive insights to support the company's growth and expansion.
- Develop and manage a cash flow model to provide financial insights into organizational plans and operating budgets.
- Translate operational plans into reliable financial forecasts.
- Assess and enhance the finance, accounting and revenue cycle infrastructure, implementing reliable systems and cost-effective processes to support growth.
- Communicate financial information effectively, including making presentations to the Executive Team and board of directors.
- Influence corporate strategy through financial insights and understanding of the business.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including commercial banks, tax advisors, auditors, and other service providers.
- Monitor regulations and ensure compliance with financial policies and practices.
- Lead financial planning and reporting capabilities related to existing operations, capital requirements, and business development initiatives.
- Participate in acquisitions, conducting financial analyses, due diligence, and integration activities.
- Manage all treasury operations, including cash flow management, investments, credit management, and risk management.
- Maintain an effective finance organization through performance evaluation, selection, training, and development.
Revenue Cycle Management:
- Oversee all aspects of the revenue cycle, including billing, coding, collections, and reimbursement processes.
- Ensure compliance with billing regulations, coding guidelines, and payer requirements to optimize revenue capture and minimize denials.
- Implement strategies to improve collections, reduce accounts receivable aging, and enhance overall revenue cycle efficiency.
Accounting and Financial Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and healthcare industry standards.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, and management reporting.
Financial Operations and Controls:
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Monitor financial performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Assess and enhance the finance and accounting infrastructure, implementing reliable systems and cost-effective processes to support growth.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability of financial operations.
- Partner with the organization’s Data Analytics Team to produce and maintain operational scorecards and perform ad hoc and standard practice analyses for departments and strategic programming (example: retina drug purchasing).
Leadership and Team Management:
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the Revenue Cycle and Accounting Staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and mentor team members, supporting their professional growth and development.
- Promote a positive work environment and cultivate a high-performance culture within the finance team.
- Flexibility with hours to accommodate physician schedules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership position within the healthcare industry.
- Experience working in high-growth entrepreneurial companies.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare finance, revenue cycle management, and accounting principles.
- Strong financial planning, analysis, and reporting capabilities.
- Experience leading large teams in a complex healthcare environment, preferably within a physician practice or healthcare organization.
- Strategic thought partner with the ability to support excellent patient care.

Compensation Details:
Compensation range: $150,000-170,000. This salary range represents a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, and other relevant business considerations.
