Are you a skilled cloud engineer with a passion for building robust cloud infrastructures? Our client is seeking a hands-on and experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to lead and drive cloud infrastructure projects across AWS and Azure environments. This pivotal role involves not just maintaining but optimizing and innovating cloud solutions to meet the evolving needs of the business. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Architect, deploy, and manage scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments.
- Design and configure essential cloud network components, including VPCs, VPNs, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, Load Balancers, Firewalls, and Transit Gateways.
- Implement and enforce security best practices, harden cloud environments, and conduct regular security reviews.
- Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) and secure data across various services.
- Continuously monitor and optimize cloud resources to reduce operational costs.
- Recommend best practices for cost savings, including instance right-sizing, storage optimization, and efficient network usage.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates to automate infrastructure deployments.
- Deploy and manage cloud monitoring tools (i.e., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics) to maintain optimal system performance and uptime.
- Address and troubleshoot infrastructure issues as needed.
- Ensure cloud infrastructure adheres to industry standards, internal policies, and best practices for security, data protection, and regulatory requirements (i.e., NIST 800-171).
- Partner with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to integrate infrastructure seamlessly with application deployments and security protocols.
- Contribute to the development of cloud strategies and roadmaps, ensuring long-term scalability and innovation in infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years in cloud engineering with substantial experience in AWS and Azure environments.
- Demonstrable experience with cloud networking components (i.e., VPCs, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers).
- Proven expertise in cloud security hardening, IAM management, encryption, network security configurations, and compliance.
- Track record of successful cloud cost optimization strategies across various services and environments.
- Proficiency with IaC tools including Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, or equivalent.
- Solid scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
- Experience with cloud monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor) and effective incident response protocols.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent.
- Experience with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud architectures is a plus.
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices and automation pipelines (CI and CD) is preferred.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (i.e., Docker and Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud data services like RDS, CosmosDB, or DynamoDB is a plus.
