Aon is looking for a Director, Client Advocacy - Accounting!
This position is an individual contributor role and will have opportunities in Bloomington, MN, New York, NY, and Chicago, IL!
POSITION OVERVIEW: Professionally and efficiently oversee premium and pro rata activity on behalf of ceding companies and reinsurers, managing offshore team as needed and assisting high revenue generating clients with improvements and/or corrections on reports. Mentor and develop accounting team members within the internal regional and global offices. Provide assistance to Client Services team members, the Sales teams, ceding companies and reinsurers on a variety of premium and pro rata issues. May be asked to oversee functions including process flows, resourcing, training and quality.
What the Day will look like:
- Operate as a strong Advocate for complex and/or high revenue clients
- Verify contract terms and accounting structure in Aon proprietary system (GRiDS), as entered by the Sales team;
- Request deposit premium and term adjustments from ceding companies in accordance with contract terms including LORs debiting instructions (for Lloyds clients)
- Prepare periodic reports, term adjustments, sliding scale commissions, profit commissions, and retrospective premium adjustments for ceding company's approval or completion in accordance with contract terms for the client's approval
- Request and monitor ceding company cash for it to be settled within contract terms;
- Request and monitor receipt of premium and proportional reports for revenue to be recognized within established timeframes;
- Collect reinsurer and London bureau open balances to ensure payment to the ceding company on a timely basis.
- Manage all aspects of Letter of Credit process
- Responsible for independently resolving complex accounting issues
- Provide assistance to Sales team by participating in RFP's and similar activities.
- Compile data; organize and schedule Client meetings
- Perform special projects, as needed.
Skills and experiences that will lead to success:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting, Math or similar degree from a four-year college or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite of products
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Ability to think strategically and analytically, as well as solve problems by thinking creatively
- Accuracy, thoroughness, and strong attention to detail
- Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills
- Ability to mentor and develop team members
Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position is $110,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually. The actual salary will vary depending on applicant's geographical location, education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
