We are currently looking to hire an Interim Chief Financial Officer for our client who is based in Morristown and operates in the Technology space. Their expertise is in consultancy, solution design, enterprise architecture, and program management across the globe. This role is responsible for their US operation and reports into the Global CFO based in Europe. The contract is initially a 6-month period but there is a very strong likelihood that this could extend or move into a permanent role at some point.
The company works across a range of industries from Corporate and Global Enterprise clients all the way through to Public Sector and Higher Education clients. They have cutting-edge technology and continue to invest heavily in R&D to ensure they stay at the forefront of their market. They are seeking a highly experienced commercial and strategic CFO who is used to working with Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations. The company is PE owned, so experience of working in a fast-paced environment with a key focus on cash and cashflow forecasting is imperative.
Below is a list of the key responsibilities for the role, whilst not exhaustive, that you’ll need to be able to perform:
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with their growth objectives.
- Foundational balance sheet-based financial background.
- Ability to lead the annual budgeting process working with business leaders to incorporate targets and goals.
- Strong management through establishing KPIs and performance objectives for financial results and team objectives.
- Confident presentation skills at the C-suite.
- Strong data analytic skills to take partial information and draw conclusions.
- Proven and demonstrated ability to work in disparate systems with questionable data hygiene.
- Creative problem solver who can lead teams, create cadence, and repeatable outcomes.
- Experience in building and running multinational teams including offshore functions is a plus.
- Familiarity with M&A activities, 3-to-5-year outlook planning to support growth strategies.
- Partner with the management team on vendor management from a financial lens.
- An overarching statement for this role is someone who has a track record of taking chaos to order from a financial foundation across the spectrum of People, Process optimization, and systems.
Given the current state of the financial operation for the business and the need to train and develop the current team, you will be required to be on-site for a minimum of 4 days a week. You will need to have a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field. An MBA or Master’s is preferred, as is a CPA or CFA certification. You must have in-depth knowledge of financial management, corporate finance, accounting principles, and financial regulations with a strong understanding of commercial contract negotiation and contract management.
