Special Situations Investment Banking Group (“SSIB”): Vice President or Director
This position will be an integral team member leading the day-to-day execution of a variety of transactions including, but not limited to, in- and out-of-court M&A, balance sheet restructurings and distressed capital raises. We are seeking experienced, polished, articulate, team-oriented and highly motivated professionals to apply for this position.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day transaction execution, due diligence processes and relevant ad-hoc tasks
- Draft pitches, teasers, CIMs, management presentations and other marketing materials
- Conduct comprehensive financial analyses of stressed and distressed companies, analyzing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to support M&A and capital markets transactions
- Build, review and maintain transaction financial models and perform valuation analyses
- Determine the proper positioning for a company and identify potential strategic and capital markets alternatives as a key component of a successful transaction process
- Assist in identifying appropriate investors and/or strategic and financial buyers
- Conduct transaction-related research and contribute to internal/external thought leadership
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues and business referral sources
- Demonstrate a commitment to the group’s success on new opportunities, mandates and overall growth
- Participate in business development activities and efforts to expand pipeline
- Willingness to take on projects and work outside of the scope of the job description
- Manage and train junior resources
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Four-year degree in business, economics, finance, accounting or similar
- Vice President: at least 5-6 years of investment banking experience
- Director: at least 8 years of investment banking experience
- Experience in M&A and/or capital raises, balance sheet restructurings or liability management banking
- Team player who can excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, challenging work environment
- Ability to collaborate with senior leaders and communicate with clients
- Very strong attention to detail, leadership skills and work ethic
- Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Excellent written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office products as well as S&P Capital IQ, Pitchbook and DealCloud
- If FINRA licenses not held already, will be required to pass the FINRA SIE, 79 and 63 exams
- Must be authorized to work in the United States – E-Verify Employer
