Summary:
The Managing Director of Institutional Trading will be a point of contact for clients and partner Institutional sales representatives to ensure seamless trade execution with a focus on the investment grade fixed income market. To succeed in this position, the candidate should have exceptional communication, technology, and problem-solving skills. In addition, the candidate will act as Investment Grade Syndicate Manager for origination and placement of new issues underwritten by the firm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with colleagues within the Capital Markets Segment
- Engage with clients and issuers to provide market color
- Support DCM and Corporate Finance to engage and uptier with clients and issuers
- Create market commentary for specific sectors and clients
- Share market color and commentary
- Facilitate trade ideas and execution
- Maintain strict adherence to Compliance obligations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business or related field
- 10+ years’ experience in the securities industry with no identified regulatory issues
- FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful track record of business building and strategy execution
- Formal credit training and commercial banking underwriting experience
- Experienced and successful in cultivating new investment relationships
- Ability to analyze corporate financial statements and make recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skill set
- Proficient with Bloomberg TOMS, Tradeweb and MarketAxess
