The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) is seeking an experienced and results-driven Director, Enterprise Applications to lead the implementation, evolution, and maintenance of our enterprise software applications. This role is pivotal in modernizing and maintaining AMC's technology, ensuring that our software and systems empower us to deliver on our mission to get more people outdoors.

Reporting to the VP of Technology, the Director of Enterprise Applications will oversee the lifecycle of enterprise applications. This role involves managing application development, deployment, integration, and support while leading a team of IT professionals. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
This is a remote position with in-person meetings at our Boston headquarters and occasional travel to other AMC facilities and locations in New Hampshire and Maine.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING AT AMC
- Oversee the administration, development, maintenance, and enhancement of AMC's enterprise applications and their integrations including but not limited to Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Property Management System (PMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Marketing Automation.
- Oversee technical support and training to end-users, ensuring they can effectively use enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine technology solutions that move us forward.
- Build and lead a high performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Guide the team with precision, leveraging best practices to maintain and enhance our suite of enterprise applications.
- Lead by example in tackling complex technical challenges, contributing directly to project outcomes and day-to-day problem solving.
- Analyze and improve business processes, turning insights into action with clear system models, specifications, and workflow diagrams.
- Offer innovative solutions that address technical challenges.
- Lead multiple projects from conception to completion, embracing both Agile and traditional methodologies.
- Utilize agile methodologies to manage projects and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure development practices are up-to-date and follow industry best practices.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement, high performance, and collaborative problem solving.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending innovative solutions to improve business processes and application functionality.
- Partner with business leads to streamline cross-team collaboration and tech processes.
- Oversee enterprise-wide data quality and hygiene practices, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data within AMC's applications.
WHAT AMC IS LOOKING FOR
- BSc/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
- 7+ years of experience working with and integrating enterprise platform applications.
- Two years of experience managing and developing staff.
- Hands-on experience administering and/or developing SaaS platform applications: CRM, ERP, and their integrations.
- Strong project management skills with a knack for improving operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing IT strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Significant experience with Salesforce is required. Salesforce Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Service Cloud strongly preferred.
- Experience with reservation management, event management, eCommerce, and POS is a plus.
- Proficient in system analysis, design, and implementation methodologies.

WHAT AMC CAN OFFER YOU
Salary range: $99,866 - $134,789

The initial salary represents our starting point, and our compensation philosophy is designed to reward and recognize the contributions of our employees as they grow within the organization. The final compensation offer will be based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and geographic differential relevant to the position, and will be discussed during the interview process.
