Job Purpose and Impact
The Director of Network Engineering will provide thought leadership, strategic direction and deep technical expertise across teams that build and maintain our network infrastructure. In this role you will develop our network technology strategy with a focus on modern engineering practices including infrastructure as code for provisioning and ongoing management of our network environment. You will lead strategic efforts to modernize Cargill’s network environment focusing on connecting Cargill’s data, Cloud, and global locations.
Key Accountabilities
- Direct a team of engineering professionals that design, develop, deploy and enhance the network platforms and infrastructure.
- Provide leadership to deliver highly scalable and resilient platforms, systems and infrastructure and run budget for a platform and infrastructure engineering team.
- Provide leadership to grow team capabilities, drive team goals and prioritize team resources in alignment with business requirements.
- Influence the engineering community to ensure teams constantly learn and apply new trends and technology to handle business problems.
- Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of six years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of supervisory experience.
- Confirmed experience with agile team delivery and concepts.
- Hands on technical experience with technologies like Software Development, and CI/CD.
- Experience with network technology and environments including datacenter, public cloud, campus, and wide area networks.
- Understanding and experience with Python, Terraform or other infrastructure coding languages.
