Position Summary:
The Office of Student Financial Services at NYU's School of Professional Studies (SPS) is seeking a Director who will ensure compliant and successful delivery of financial aid to SPS undergraduate and graduate students and ensures effective and timely communication to all students and stakeholders. This individual will develop and implement strategies to manage the SPS admissions financial aid programs. Manage the School’s scholarship process and other aid mechanisms. Evaluate, develop, and recommend student financial aid policies to Senior Director, Admission and Financial Aid, ensuring compliance with University, federal, and state guidelines. Analyze and evaluate financial aid expenditures; forecast and make recommendations for the amount of institutional aid needed per annum, ensure expenditures are within budget. Create financial aid reports including allocations per academic programs, and student utilization reports to facilitate decisions that will impact enrollment. Advise students and prospective students on financial aid options, financial education and other student services to support the SPS student experience. Leverage financial expertise to facilitate retention and persistence.

Required Experience:
7+ years Progressively responsible experience with financial aid administration including development and implementation of financial aid programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with PeopleSoft, Banner, PowerFAIDS, and/or any other financial aid system
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of federal and state financial aid guidelines and ability to determine the best use of SPS' limited resources to attract and retain students. Ability to promote the University and work independently as well as part of a team. Knowledge of financial need analysis and financial aid programs, both federal and state, including regulations and laws that govern financial aid programs; computer skills including Microsoft office and SIS. Experience implementing new business practices and leveraging emerging technology and making data-driven decisions; strong analytical and qualitative analysis skills and focus on continuous process improvement. Excellent interpersonal, public speaking, and writing skills. Ability to handle sensitive situations and/or people with discretion and empathy. Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends. Demonstrated leadership ability. Knowledge of Federal Student Aid (FSA) systems.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience supporting both students and academic departments. Experience crafting presentations with quantitative data and delivering financial aid information to varying audiences. Experience managing administrators.
Additional Information:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $95,000.00 to USD $135,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
