Chief Financial Officer

A leading healthcare company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join their executive team.
In this role, will oversee critical functions including Controlling/Accounting, FP&A, Billing, Data Analytics, and M&A.
Your responsibilities will directly support a rapidly expanding business that aims to grow to 200+ BCBAs and ~2,000 Behavioral Therapists within the next 2 years. You will lead, mentor, and manage a team of dedicated finance professionals, while also taking on an external-facing leadership role, presenting to the Board, strategic partners, and industry events.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Finance leadership, a strong background in Accounting/Reporting/Taxation, and exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy:
- Collaborate with the CEO to develop payer strategy, including contracting decisions, rate negotiation analytics, and negotiation execution; maintain strategic relationships with payers.
- Lead opportunistic M&A strategy and asset valuation.
- Define overall financial strategy including financing opportunities, banking relationships, and lines of credit.
Budgeting and Accounting:
- Manage accounts payable decisions and execution.
- Oversee annual budgeting process, ongoing review, and reforecasting; develop and maintain financial models.
- Provide strategic guidance to CEO and functional leaders on budgeting and investment decisions; monitor financial performance and ensure adherence to budget.
- Regularly review actual spending against budget.
- Lead monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, and tax compliance.
- Manage quarterly and annual tax filings.
Revenue Cycle Management:
- Oversee insurance registration, patient authorization, and employee credentialing to support billing and collections.
- Develop and maintain billing strategy for timely and accurate invoicing; manage denials and resubmissions.
- Drive efficient accounts receivable reporting and collections, including payer relationships.
- Identify opportunities for process and system improvements to enhance billing efficiency.
Payroll:
- Oversee end-to-end payroll process to ensure accurate and timely payouts.
- Support IT interface, software management, and process enhancements.
Audit, Compliance, and Risk Management:
- Coordinate internal and external financial audits; ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with clinical leaders on quality assurance oversight and manage payer and regulatory audits.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks; ensure adherence to organizational financial policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA, MACC, or similar advanced degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in senior financial management roles.
- Deep knowledge of healthcare financial management and accounting principles.
