Summary
The Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) is an influential member of the executive team charged with driving product innovation and market success. The CPTO is responsible for aligning company-wide vision and business goals with technology and market demands. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CPTO is tasked with creating a product strategy, roadmap planning, and driving product development while leading IT and digital transformation for the organization. The CPTO will be instrumental in aligning technology initiatives with business and strategic goals, fostering innovation, and preparing the company for future growth and market leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a vision: Work with executive management, clients, and the product team to develop, share, update, and align the product vision with the CEO & senior management team by creating a product vision statement that guides the product development team.
- Provide strategy & leadership: Oversee product delivery by creating processes, roadmaps, and strategies to turn the company vision and business objectives into reality. This includes:
- Creating and executing a product, architecture, and engineering roadmap.
- Assessing opportunities, risks, and driving decisions to ensure the company’s competitive advantage.
- Communicating the product and technology strategy to clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Making the business case for new products, major enhancements, and technology initiatives.
- Team development and processes:
- Coach and develop talented Product and IT teams in collaboration with the R&D leadership team.
- Plan team design and resource allocation to meet goals.
- Attract and hire great talent, including employees, freelancers, and subject domain experts as advisers.
- Nurture a culture of curious problem-solving, testing, and shared learning.
- Ensure clear and improving delivery and quality assurance processes.
- Set, monitor, and meet KPIs.
- Product, Architecture, and Engineering:
- Own the specification, architecture, and implementation of the company’s R&D initiatives such as ModelSoft and SaaS solutions.
- Evaluate and implement new tools and infrastructure.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration for timely and successful delivery of high-quality products within financial targets.
- Optimize performance and security and stay updated on relevant tech trends and tools.
- Market Research, Analysis & Insight:
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
- Perform in-depth market analysis to identify potential segments and customer needs.
- Gather and analyze customer insights to inform product development.
- Develop strategies to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in product management, technology leadership, or a similar role within the technology sector.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful product strategies and roadmaps.
- Experience interpreting customer needs and market trends.
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate teams across various functional roles.
- Extensive experience in IT leadership, including infrastructure management and cybersecurity.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels.
