SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Direct and manage the daily and long-range strategic operations of the Museum's Facilities to provide a safe, welcoming, comfortable Museum experience for ALL visitors, staff, and volunteers. Responsible for leading the initiative for the Museum's Climate Action Planning, the operation of an effective preventative maintenance plan, and ongoing operation of the Museum's physical plant and grounds. Overall responsibility for permits, licenses, and compliance with governmental regulatory requirements pertaining to the operation of the building.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct and manage the daily and long-range strategic operations of the Museum's Facilities and grounds.
- Lead the initiative for the Museum's Climate Action Planning by gathering data on environmental impact, analyzing and presenting the data, and formulating plans for sustainable operations.
- Manage an effective preventative and corrective maintenance plan for the Museum's physical plant and grounds.
- Plan and implement facilities-related projects in conjunction with the long-range strategic plan, maintaining communication with contractors and the Museum community.
- Develop and administer budgets for the facilities department, ensuring effective utilization of resources.
- Hire, train, develop, and evaluate staff to meet overall objectives and foster a spirit of teamwork.
- Maintain liaison with government officials and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Respond to facilities-related emergency incidents to ensure safety.
- Perform other work-related duties as required and be on call 24 hours a day.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday.
REPORTS TO:
VP, Facilities & Building Operations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors of Science or Arts degree.
- 10 or more years of facilities engineering/management experience.
- Demonstrated ability managing daily and long-range strategic operations of building systems.
- Experience overseeing construction and renovation projects.
- Ability to manage, train, and evaluate a diverse staff.
- Experience managing external partner contracts.
- Experience developing and managing complex budgets.
- Demonstrated ability in evaluating Building Codes and regulations.
- Strong written and presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of Building Management Systems and Microsoft Office.
STARTING SALARY:
Exempt (Salaried) $100,000-$158,101/annually.
