Position Summary
Thales is currently looking for a Senior RF Design Engineer whose main responsibilities include designing RF circuitry (the ability to design circuitry and systems from concept to production), system design, analysis, and RF support for the engineering team.
Regulatory Compliance Requirements
Must be a U.S. Person as defined by applicable law, or otherwise authorized or eligible for authorization, to access hardware, software, technology, or technical data controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Take a leading technical role in the design and development of navigation aid systems and subsystems and participate in design and requirements reviews.
- Write requirements documents for RF systems and circuits.
- Tune, test, develop, and document RF systems and circuitry in a lab environment.
- Design and develop Receivers, Synthesizers, and Transmitters for Microwave Frequencies.
- Design and develop filters, power dividers, couplers, oscillators, low-noise amplifiers, and other RF circuitry.
- Generate schematics, perform component placement, and support layout design.
- Analyze and develop systems concepts incorporating link budgets, statistical performance analysis, and thermal analysis.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical discipline with a minimum of 8+ years of relevant engineering work experience.
- 5+ years of recent experience in RF Design.
- Ability to efficiently operate and use laboratory equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators.
- At least 3 years of experience in the area of Communication Systems RF Component/Circuit level design and RF propagation.
- Demonstrated experience with RF and Analog Hardware simulation tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products, Schematic Capture, and Layout.
Special Position Requirements
Schedule: Mon-Thu on 9/80 or 5/40 schedule.
