Job Summary
The Engineering Dean's Office is currently seeking a student to join their team of professionals. Duties to include:
- Enforce and educate students on Maker Space Safety protocols.
- Monitor and manage room reservations.
- Maintain and organize the workspace.
- Assist students with operations of various tools and equipment.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging students to explore and innovate.

Desired Qualifications
- Currently enrolled at FIU engineering or computing program.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices in a workshop setting.
- Proficiency in using general technical equipment and tools commonly found in a Makerspace.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for creativity, innovation, and hands-on projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively and supportively within a student and faculty environment.
Who May Apply
- Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
- Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
- Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.
