Job Summary:
Through positive leadership, assures the Texas region is delivering a superior client experience offering the right solutions and products that foster high client retention and increased lifetime value at, or above, targeted performance levels. This position sets the strategy, direction and expectations regarding customer growth, customer retention, team member engagement, professional development, diversity and other critical strategic initiatives. Functional areas primarily consist of retention and sales coaching to increase retail and business banking solutions, administration, marketing, managing a regional budget and asset management. Leader is capable of building a professional and civic network to support business development and Veritex Community Bank's reputation as a leader and significant partner in the community. Oversees the delivery of all policies and procedures for retail and business partners with Finance, Human Resources, Credit, Sales Development and Marketing to ensure the success of the region.
Importantly, has a demonstrated passion around the development of team members in their roles in a manner that fosters their growth and movement within the organization.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Consistently delivers exceptional client experiences with every client interaction.
- Attracts and develops talent in the Banks Operations to deliver risk-conscious performance and results, including the identification, development and retention of talent with requisite banking capabilities.
- Culture champion focused on driving accountability, managing risk, creating a healthy and challenging environment and pursuing progress over perfection as "owners" of their business units.
- Drives to optimize a balance between client experience, attaining the appropriate risk management discipline, financial efficiency and effectiveness and employee engagement to achieve strategic goals.
- Identify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
- Follows written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities.
- Demonstrates executive level thought leadership in the development of the operational strategic plan and ensures alignment with business strategies.
- Builds roadmap to reform the infrastructure and digitize the Bank to create efficiencies to current processes.
- Responsible for significant IT investment budget, leveraging MANTL to drive speed-to-market. Creates highly efficient and effective operations.
- Develops plans and strategies for building out a well-managed operation, inclusive of automated and preventive controls.
- Builds multi-year technology roadmap, inclusive of preparing the bank for real-time processing.
- Partners with the Heads of Deposits, Credit Cards and Payments to deliver on business strategies.
- Stays abreast of industry regulatory developments; keeps Senior Management apprised of changes and developments and their implications to the bank.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with key internal partners and other stakeholders throughout the enterprise including IT, Risk, Compliance, business leadership, etc.
Job Skills and Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree; MBA desirable.
- 10 years of banking experience with a focus on Business Management, Operations, Infrastructure/Technology, Risk Management, Audit, or Control.
- 8 years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams.
- Knowledge of bank operations such as deposit, credit cards, remittance, Automated Clearing House, or related banking operations.
- Deep knowledge of state and federal regulatory issues impacting the financial services industry to include direct experience working with federal and/or state regulators.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, and able to relate to employees at all levels in the organization.
