About The RoleThis role is responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of Banana Republic and Banana Republic Factory Store’s Production & Technical Design organization and its goals; delivering value through creating high performing/operating teams, effectively balancing innovation, quality, and costs that meet Banana Republic's long-term global brand vision.
To deliver the Production & Technical Design strategies, the VP will lead a team of production and technical design professionals and has Sr. Director, & Directors as direct reports. The VP works closely with international brand leaders/partners in Design, Merchandising, Planning, GIS and Cross Channel Teams. The VP works with these teams to execute Banana Republic's 3 Speed Product Pipeline process, build Monogram Sub-Brand, improve GM, Increase Inventory Optimization, Expand Licensing and Drive Additional GS&A efficiency-goals that the Apparel production & technical design teams can affect.
What You'll Do- Develop a quality-focused, cost effective, flexibly Production strategy that supports the various and unique aspects of the global cross channel and core Banana Republic business plans.
- Communicate the Product Pipeline vision, purpose and process to GIS offices, vendors, and mills to ensure strategy is supported by stakeholders.
- Lead and develop sourcing and capacity management strategies. Set in place plans to execute processes ensuring product availability for both seasonal and fast pipelines for all apparel product categories.
- Actively contribute to Banana Republic's global brand strategy and engage in cross-collaboration with key partners to deliver results.
- Establish and implement strategy that will better align the Tech Design teams to Banana Republic and Banana Republic Factory Store’s goals.
- Lead the production and technical design teams to deliver costing plans, sourcing strategies, fit processes and product development needs to meet business partner/channel needs in Merchandising, Design each season.
- Work with cross-functional business partners to enforce vendor policies that minimize and bring resolution to potential financial liabilities.
- Ensure GIS and Vendors are aligned on best practices that support Banana Republic's cost management, product quality, and delivery requirements.
- Set and manage departmental budget needs that support SG&A.
- Ensure successful implementation of the BR Product Pipeline process. Continuously review and lead team progress to identify opportunities to increase speed to market, product execution, and efficiency.
- Research new sources of manufacturing and industry best practices to ensure continual process improvement and long-term vision.
- Provide framework and issue resolution process for teams in all areas of Production & Technical Design that support adoption ratios, sample ratios and seasonal outcomes of strategic vendor management processes.
- Own communication plan of cross functional updates relative to sourcing, production, fit processes, strategies and findings.
- Establish and develop leadership capabilities for the Banana Republic's Production and Technical Design teams, delegating work effectively and ensuring a lean structural model is in place to increase speed and efficiency of work and optimize costs.
- Set the appropriate tone for the organization; effectively manage through periods of change with positive attitude despite ambiguity and uncertainty.
- Retain top talent, develop skills, and build knowledge within the organization to increase bench strength and future succession capability. Where necessary, effectively recruit and onboard top talent (across functions,) aligned with organizational needs.
- Actively manage and measure organizational performance through quantitative and qualitative assessment, including monthly/quarterly department performance metrics, turnover and productivity targets, customer/employee surveys and industry benchmarking.
Who You Are- Knowledge of how apparel and non-apparel industry businesses, strategies and the competition operate in the marketplace. Ability to use this knowledge to inform and influence strategies.
- Knowledge of Production trade regulations, testing protocol, product integrity, production cycle timeline, fabric and garment construction.
- Apparel industry and apparel and fabric manufacturing economics and operations management (i.e., lead-times, transit times, garment and fabric construction and apparel manufacturing operations).
- Analytical and computer skills and knowledge and ability to obtain information from systems.
- Ability to influence across multiple functions/areas/geographies.
- Effective problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop & implement strategies according to plans, monitor progress, and make the necessary adjustments to achieve objectives.

- Extensive experience in Production/Sourcing, Technical Design and Supply Chain experience in roles of increasing scope, complexity and leadership responsibility.
- Previous people management and leadership experience.
- Ability to travel internationally 30-50%.

Salary Range: $255,300 - $351,100 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
