Job Description:
We are looking for an exceptional, clinical savvy Product Line Director who will be a key driver in creating the next generation of Nuclear Medicine related products. The Product Line Director has overall responsibility for the vision and strategy for the product line/s under their control. The individual will lead a team to design, build, and launch a new suite of Nuclear Medicine products from the ground up. Demonstrates strong leadership and acts as General Manager of their product lines, taking necessary actions to drive sustained success. The individual is required to work collaboratively with different business functions including Engineering, Sales, Sales Operations, Service and Operations in order to deliver Mirion Medical's mission. The individual will also work closely with customers - from presenting the roadmap, understanding their needs, soliciting feedback on the quality of our projections, and improving the product based on the product vision and customer needs.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Overall business management of their assigned product lines through the full product lifecycle from launch through to rationalization.
- Works with manager to define a global product line vision that is fully aligned with global market needs and opportunities (as defined by Market Driven Strategy (MDS).
- Key contributor to the MDS and Innovation Driven Strategy (IDS) processes within the Mirion Business System (MBS).
- Ensures the regular engagement of customers, support, and sales in key regions, as well as technology owners, to maintain the ongoing capture of market needs and technology feedback, in order to drive innovation and business value.
- Responsible for the creation of Business Cases to support the development of high-value new products, features and functionality.
- Responsible for tracking the performance of their product lines (orders, sales, gross margin) and driving prompt and appropriate action as needed (e.g. sales improvement through promotional activities, quality improvement, lifecycle extension or rationalization).
- Successfully utilizes global processes for product performance tracking, pricing, road mapping and rationalization.
- Uses the Product Development Process (working closely with cross functional teams) to deliver winning products. This includes partnering with global R&D leadership through the development cycle to ensure products are launched to time, budget and specification. This embodies the classic "4 Ps" of marketing:
- Product: Capture high-level requirements (Functional Objectives) and define strategies to maximize return to the company within assigned segments. Develop a strategic vision (short, medium and long term) for the whole product line and express this vision to key stakeholders.
- Place: Define targeted territories and/or end-user segments - create and lead the Commercial Launch Process for their product lines.
- Price: Develop and set market pricing using a customer value approach to maximize market penetration and return to the company.
- Promotion: Work with the global marketing group to identify key value propositions and facilitate communications plan to ensure sales performance.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of product management, upstream/inbound marketing, or development experience, preferably in Nuclear Medicine or in a similar/related medical device industry.
- MS in Nuclear Medicine Technology with at least 8 years of relevant work experience with at least 5 in the direct field.
- Clinical knowledge in drug/medical device development preferred.
- Experience with phased product development methodologies and tools.
- Ability to manage complex initiatives with limited supervision.
- Experience with navigating the regulatory submission landscape.
- Energized by working through complex problems and a focus on bringing innovation, scalability, and productization.
- Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
- Strong leadership with excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work on multiple assignments concurrently.
- Proven analytical skills and problem-solving techniques.
