Overview
AIR is seeking a confident, self-motivated, and creative Policy Analyst to join our Health Payment Innovation, Transformation, and Supports Program Area within our Health division. The candidate should have a strong working knowledge of the requirements and operations of current health care policy priorities, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), value-based care models, and health care quality initiatives. Ideally, the candidate will have experience with the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) and the Quality Payment Program (QPP). The policy analyst will lead tasks related to AIR Health's work with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). In addition, the candidate will be expected to participate in business development opportunities at the federal and state levels and mentor more junior policy analysts.
Candidates hired for the position may work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities for the position include:
- Serve as Task Lead or activity lead; manage tasks or activities, including associated teams and budgets (in collaboration with a Project Manager or Project Director).
- Review and interpret regulatory and sub-regulatory guidance.
- Lead audit or monitoring activities, including document review and collation of results.
- Develop education materials that clearly explain policy requirements to various stakeholders.
- Collaborate with a team of policy analysts and technical assistance support staff to accomplish client-facing project/task milestones on time and within budget.
- Mentor and train junior analysts and technical assistance support staff.
- Manage and contribute to the development and writing of technical reports and dashboards.
- Develop and conduct presentations to government clients.
- Proactively identify ideas for innovation and strategies to implement innovations.
- Participate in business development activities.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Master's Degree in healthcare administration, health policy, public policy, public health, or a related field, with at least 4 years of full-time related consulting or policy-oriented professional experience or a Ph.D. degree with 0-3 years of related experience.
- Extensive familiarity with CMS, the ACA, and Medicare-specific value-based care policy and programs.
- Experience managing client relationships and managing projects.
- Experience collaborating with and mentoring a team of policy analysts.

AIR's Total Rewards Program is designed to reward our staff competitively. This position offers an anticipated annual salary of $90,000 - $115,000.
