Aston Carter is working with a growing financial services client that is seeking to hire a Senior Tax Manager!
Job Description
The Sr. Tax Manager will oversee all aspects of tax preparation, planning, and consulting activities, maintain key client relationships, and provide leadership and direction to the tax team.
Primary Duties:
- Maintain key and challenging client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact and providing strategic tax guidance and support.
- Participate in prospect meetings, contributing insights and expertise to secure new business opportunities and expand our client base.
- Oversee new firm integration efforts, ensuring a smooth transition and alignment with our firm's values, culture, and standards.
- Conduct final review of all tax preparation work, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to firm policies and procedures.
- Conduct final review of tax planning strategies, providing feedback and recommendations to optimize tax outcomes for clients.
- Communicate and collaborate with other directors and department heads to ensure alignment and integration of tax strategies with broader firm objectives.
- Lead the final phase of interviews with potential new hires, assessing qualifications, cultural fit, and potential contributions to the team.
- Manage the tax team in its entirety, providing leadership, mentorship, and support to facilitate professional development and growth.
- Make final determinations on firm stance and policies regarding complex tax issues, leveraging expertise and experience to guide decision-making.
- Resolve conflicts and disputes among staff members and clients, utilizing strong conflict-resolution skills and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Serve as a member of the Tax Team Committee, contributing insights, ideas, and recommendations to enhance departmental effectiveness and drive strategic initiatives.
Required Skills:
7-10 years of experience in Tax preparation, tax planning, or tax consulting roles
