What you will do
Role Overview:
Exciting entry-level leadership role at the cutting edge of the renewable energy industry. This is a fast-paced, dynamic position at the center of project management and renewable energy development. The Project Development Associate works closely with experienced experts in every domain of the utility-scale renewable energy industry (wind and solar and battery storage). The PD supports the development of projects from early-stage site-identification all the way through permitting and construction. The PD is responsible for handling complex tasks and supporting Project Managers on multiple projects. The PD interacts daily with a diversity of internal project teams and external landowners, community stakeholders and public officials in various project areas. This is a tremendous early-career position for emerging leaders who are seeking professional growth opportunities in the renewable energy industry with numerous training opportunities.
Main responsibilities:
- Identify and oversee the development of large-scale wind, solar and battery storage projects by creating and updating project maps and databases using GIS tools.
- Represent EDPRNA in the field, working with Project Managers and landowners to create, negotiate, and amend agreements, options, leases, and land sales.
- Engage in community outreach and stakeholder management activities.
- Organize and attend educational and networking events.
- Conduct land, market, regulatory, and related project research.
- Compile documentation, attend meetings, conduct necessary studies, and perform other tasks as needed to obtain permits at the local, state, and federal level.
- Assist with efforts to secure critical transmission and interconnection contracts from utilities and transmission providers.
- Prepare proposals that are submitted to power purchasers including utilities, community choice aggregators, and commercial & industrial customers.
- Support internal reporting and project tracking efforts.
- Additional duties as required.
What are we looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
- 1 – 2 years of progressively responsible project management or development experience in energy or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS and Google Earth software preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software with strong Excel skills preferred.
- Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise (Preferred).
Travel:
Up to 65%. Driver’s License required.

- Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment.
- Walking: Ability to walk .5 to 2 miles per day, including across unpaved and rough surfaces when on project sites.
- Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written verbal, diagram, or scheduled form.
- Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
