WHY WE NEED YOU: The Senior Director, Total Reward and HR Operations will oversee the Museum of Science's HR Operations, Compensation, and Benefits programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and optimizing HR operations, ensuring competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits offerings, and aligning these functions with the Museum's mission, values, and strategic goals. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the Senior Director, Total Reward and HR Operations will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to ensure best in class benefit offerings and highly efficient HR operations. The role will have oversight of our HRIS system and will be responsible for continuous optimization and automation efforts. The role will oversee a team of two and function as part of the HR leadership team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
HR Operations:
- Develop and implement HR operational strategies aligned with the Museum's mission and objectives.
- Streamline and improve HR processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Manage the HRIS system (UKG) and optimize its functionality for data management, reporting, and employee self-service.
- Lead and manage the HR operations team to ensure efficient and effective delivery of HR services.
HRIS Management and Optimization:- Oversee management and optimization of the museum's HRIS to ensure it meets the evolving needs of the organization.
- Partner with IT and external vendors to maintain and enhance HRIS functionality.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and accurate reporting within the HRIS.
- Provide training and support to HR staff and end-users on HRIS functionalities.
- Oversee HR reporting and analytics. Develop and maintain HR data dashboards to drive insights and support data-driven decision making.
Compensation & Benefits Programs:- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive compensation and benefits strategies that align with the museum's goals and ensure competitiveness within the industry.
- Conduct regular market analyses to benchmark compensation and benefits programs.
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other employee perks.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local compensation and benefits regulations.
- Oversee leave management programs, ensuring compliance and a seamless process.
- Responsible for accommodation management for the Museum.
Leadership & Strategic Planning:- Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on HR-related matters.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the HR team.
- Lead initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the museum in collaboration with the HR leadership team.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Proven experience in managing compensation and benefits programs.
- Strong knowledge of HRIS systems and experience with system optimization.
- Excellent understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of developing and implementing HR strategies that drive organizational success.

REPORTS TO:Chief People Officer
STARTING SALARY:Exempt (Salaried) $98,179-$157,086 annually
