As one of the most respected Specialty Infusionproviders in America, we service thousands of patients nationwide throughour growing network of branches and healthcare professionals.The Director of Margin Optimization will build, direct, and manage a teamthat works cross functionally to steward the process to provide appropriaterecommendations for margin optimization. This includes but is not limitedto; partnering with inventory management on cost(s), billing processchanges, product substitutions, partnering with the clinical teams todetermine appropriate medications, making recommendations for medicalbilling or PBM billing, and review insurance-based formulary. This positionwill also partner with the clinical teams to interpret, clarify, verify,and request updated orders for medications and other pharmaceutical suppliespursuant to a medication order. A critical component of this role ispossessing the ability to see each negative and/or sub-optimal margin claimthrough resolution, not letting barriers and roadblocks get in the way. Responsibilities
Responsible for building and owning a process/team to drive daily oversightof negative and sub-optimal margins, driving higher profitability across thebusinessThis includes but is not limited to; continuous review of products selectedfor each patient to validate margin, formulary changes, and medicationappropriateness based on disease state, identifying therapeutic substitutionopportunities to enhance profitability and minimize copay costs to patients,reviewing billing processes and making recommendations for appropriatechanges, and partnering with the inventory/procurement team to optimizecost(s)Define and resource key roles and responsibilities for a margin optimizationteam to ensure the team has the right 'players' to execute the processesthat are builtDevelop a margin optimization roadmap with key milestones that can be trackedand socialized on a consistent cadenceResponsible for building and owning a reporting package that clearly outlinesthe return on investment for the margin optimization team. Report out marginimprovement on a weekly/bi-weekly/monthly cadenceCollaborate with internal and external operational, business, andtechnical teams in the process of improving the margin optimization processOversee, lead, and set service level expectations for the margin team,and ensure all action items are acknowledged and assigned for follow-upBuild reporting to measure and substantiate that service levels are beingmaintainedConduct analysis and consult business leadership to build and implement highimpact/large scale initiatives to deliver sustainable improvement in grossmarginCollaborate with external firms to perform benchmarking on cost(s) toidentify opportunity for enhancementsDevelop and deploy sustainable tools and processes to support the evaluat onand identification of opportunities across direct and indirect cost(s)Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuousimprovement, innovation, and accountabilityStay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and emergingtechnologies to inform and adapt the margin enhancement strategy accordinglyActively participate in regional as well as national sales calls and meetingsas relevant
