In-House: Assistant General Counsel – Consumer Finance Litigation Attorney (4+ yrs)

We are working with an innovative Chicago-based financial technology company that has an immediate need for a consumer finance litigation attorney (4+ yrs) to join its legal team as an Assistant General Counsel. Responsibilities:
· Oversee the company’s consumer litigation matters, subpoenas, and other disputes, including pre-litigation counseling, fact investigation, discovery, motions practice, and dispute resolution in federal and state jurisdictions
· Support the negotiation and/or drafting of contractual agreements, applying regulatory compliance requirements in legal guidance where applicable
· Identify potential areas of risk with new or existing products and advise on how to mitigate those risks
· Manage outside counsel and operational budgets
Required Qualifications:
· 4 or more years of consumer financial services litigation experience from a law firm and/or in-house legal department
· Experience with laws and regulations applicable to consumer financial services, including Dodd Frank, UDAAP, GLBA, FCRA, FDCPA, and TILA is highly preferred
