JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the President of the region, the Director of Sales and Operations Planning is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Sales and Operations Planning process within the organization. The Director will help guide the strategic plan for the region and work with cross functional partners to create actionable benchmarks to achieve company goals. The Director will work with all cross functional partners to understand risks and opportunities to achieving the benchmarks and work with leadership to problem solve solutions.
CORE JOB DUTIES
- Challenges and inspires all stakeholders to achieve business results
- Monitors sales and operational benchmark variances and takes appropriate actions to close gaps and understand opportunities
- Works with Business Intelligence team and others to create tools, processes and analytics to enhance the S&OP process
- Orchestrate S&OP meetings with all levels of the business to ensure strategic alignment and transparency to risks and opportunities
- Develop a playbook for S&OP to achieve best in class results
- Collaborate with commercial team to shape demand to operational constraints. Help build "core item" structure to focus on the best strategy to grow the business
- Work with Cultivation and Operational teams to shape operational plans to meet commercial expectations and reasonable safety stocks to cover upside expectations. Learn operational constraints that affect current and future planning
- Create item level inventory targets for facility Master Schedulers to adhere to. Have regular communication with the facility to understand gaps and opportunities to the near-term schedule that will affect the strategic goals of the company
- Use the S&OP process to supplement and improve on the budget setting process.
- Oversee inventory planning: optimize cultivation planning, production planning and commercial planning to ensure optimal stock levels while still minimizing obsolete risk.
- Develop contingency plans to ensure the business is still aligned to the consensus strategy
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Supply Chain, Finance, Agriculture, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experience in sales and operations planning within a manufacturing environment, including production planning and scheduling, replenishment planning, demand planning, materials management, commercial planning required. Able to understand how all areas of planning link together
- Experience with using supply planning software, both operationally and understanding the concepts behind the tool. Able to help build off of internal tools with minimal external tools.
- Strong analytical skills with intermediate to advanced excel skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Capable of presenting data metrics and financial information in an easy-to-understand format and the executive presence to present to leadership.
- Ability to multi-task and meet critical deadlines
