Job Overview - Tax Manager:
Join our client's esteemed team as a Tax Manager in Massachusetts! In this hybrid role, you will manage multiple tax engagements, provide high-quality client support, and contribute to business development by handling complex tax returns and building strong client relationships.
Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000/year + bonus
Location: Norfolk County, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Tax Manager:
- Tax Compliance: Review and sign complex federal and state tax returns.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong client relationships through consultation and meetings.
- Research and Consulting: Conduct tax research and provide expert advice on complex issues.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor team members, ensuring quality and accuracy in their work.
- Audit Representation: Represent clients during federal and state tax audits.
- Engagement Oversight: Manage client engagements, including scheduling, budgeting, and billing.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to streamline departmental processes.
Qualifications for the Tax Manager:
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive CPA firm experience (CPA or JD preferred).
- Education: BS in Accounting (MST or MBA preferred).
- Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge in entity taxation (C Corp, S Corp, Partnerships).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills (public speaking skills are a plus).
- Adaptability: Ability to adjust schedule based on peak times in the department.
- Specialization: Functional/industry specialization is advantageous.
