The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston's Financial Services (FRFS) delivers a suite of payments services to financial institutions via FedLine Solutions, FedNowSM, Fedwire, National Settlement Service (NSS), FedCash, FedACH (Automated Clearing House), and Check Services. This position is a unique opportunity to be part of the FedNow Service, which enables financial institutions to provide their customers with the ability to send and receive payments any time, any day.
As a member of the FedNow Fraud Protection team, you will participate in statistical and mathematical initiatives to predict future outcomes through data analysis and respond to fraud attacks. Key responsibilities include evaluating situational threats and trends, performing ongoing analytics, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
What you'll do:
- Develop analytics and make recommendations for fraud strategies to minimize fraud loss.
- Contribute to large-scale analytical fraud research projects through all stages.
- Develop and produce executive key performance metrics for fraud protection.
- Perform the design and optimization of algorithms for matching and pattern recognition.
- Create, test, and implement rule and model criteria in applicable fraud detection systems.
- Evaluate fraud cases holistically to identify areas of improvement.
- Compile, review, and assess information from various sources to maintain knowledge in data analysis techniques.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, computer science, risk management, or a related field.
- 4+ years of data analytics experience, preferably with a financial institution.
- 3+ years fraud protection experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of descriptive and predictive statistical tools.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, R, or Python.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
