Overview
The Associate Vice President of Medical Operations supports the Vice President of Medical Operations and the operations management team by providing leadership on day-to-day challenges and cross-site initiatives. Represents the VP and operations department to internal and external stakeholders. Maintains positive relationships with clinician and management teams. Inspires employee engagement across the organization.

Benefits

Responsibilities
- Facilitates collaboration between assigned regional clinics and supports department initiatives - compliance, QI, billing, eligibility, call center, pharmacy, planning, purchasing, Human Resources, etc.
- Visits clinic sites to maintain relationship with health center site Leadership, monitor progress on initiatives, collect staff feedback, identify, and implement best practices.
- Represents the Vice President of Medical Operations to various internal and external stakeholders, i.e. Clinical Development, Compliance, Practice Transformation, Finance, Billing, Human Resources, contracted services.
- Assists with problem identification, data analysis, making recommendations, and developing action plans.
- Ensure staff are trained to efficiently use Electronic Health Records.
- Co-Leads improvement and standardization initiatives and reports outcomes for multiple audiences, i.e. staff, and senior management.
- Assists with recruitment, development, retention, and oversight of management staff.
- Supports managers with business case development and variance reporting.
- Assists Center Directors on employment issues including disciplinary actions and compliance with HR policies.
- In collaboration with the CMO/Ops team, implements and monitors continuous Quality Improvement processes, programs, and ensures regulatory readiness within the clinical departments.
- Directly supervises centralized operations staff including Director of Patient Services, Central Referrals Manager, Health Information Manager, and other Program Managers, Project Managers and classifications of staff as assigned.
- Provides general administrative support to the VP of Health Center Operations including preparing internal communications, meeting agendas, reports, and project communications.
- Interprets and integrates federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- Assists with development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- In collaboration with regional Health Center Directors, monitor operations, programs, policies and physical properties to ensure regulatory compliance of HIPAA, OSHA, etc.
- Manages budgets (in collaboration with regional Health Center Directors and Program Managers) including annual development, monthly review, and interfaces with the finance department.
- Oversee professional development of managers and staff to promote professional growth.

Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of management experience in an outpatient or related healthcare setting.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills (both written and verbal) with ability to facilitate understanding across multiple audiences.
- Flexibility and strong project leadership skills with the ability to drive large, cross-functional programs to meet strategic and tactical goals.
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
- Access to reliable transportation with current insurance to allow travel among all clinic sites.
- Experience supervising diverse staff.
Job Preferences:
- Community Health, FQHC experience in a similar role.
