Role And Responsibilities
The Director of Product Marketing is responsible for the total P&L of the Refrigeration category, and takes a cross-category leadership role in the go-to-market strategy for the kitchen products.
Responsibilities:
- Sets pricing strategy considering competitive landscape and line logic, for both MAP and promotional pricing
- Engages with key customers (retail and builder) to build sales strategies specific to each customer/channel
- Negotiates placement and terms
- Collaborates with Samsung cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, supply chain, demand generation and finance) to achieve KPIs
- Leads the future product strategy with close collaboration with GBM based on consumer insights and market trends
- Develops a cross-category strategy for kitchen packages including Bespoke and promotions event strategies
- Represents the face of Samsung to major customers, and exercises the influence essential for building and maintaining strong, collaborative business relationships
- Provides the talent management leadership needed to develop individuals and teams, creating clear R&R across the team with performance KPI’s
- Problem Solving and Decision Making:
- Decides pricing strategy for all promotions - approximately $400 million in annual spending
- Decides product lineup features and line logic in alignment with GBM
- Decides on final communication/messaging for responsible categories
Skills And Qualifications
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor degree required, MBA preferred and a minimum of 12+ years of product marketing experience where strong analytical skills and collaboration experience of engaging with both sales and retailers were critical to success
- Prior experience managing P&L and product strategy required
- Previous experience in the consumer goods business space required (consumer electronics industry preferred)
- Creates and presents clear and compelling presentations to senior Executives, major retail customers, and media
- Previous people leadership experience and long term strategic planning experience required
- Pricing and promotions experience preferred (a solid understanding and knowledge base)
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills (presentation creation, v-look ups, pivot tables, etc.)
- Up to 10% domestic or international travel required
