Bring your experience designing and building Appian business process workflows to Arrowstreet. We are growing our Appian business workflow solution suite with a healthy queue of process requests from teams across the firm for sophisticated custom workflow solutions. First up are business process solutions for our Investment Services Team in support of critical business workflows that drive high priority investment initiatives. At Arrowstreet, Appian hosts mission critical workflows and we are seeking an Appian Developer to join our Arrowstreet Investment Workflow Automation Team contributing to solution implementations built by integrated Arrowstreet/vendor development teams.
Our objective is to enable our business teams by automating their critical processes, providing well-structured workflows, intuitive interfaces, shared components and integrations across multiple systems and teams. The Developer will be joining a high-performing team of software engineers that own and customize Investment-centric solutions at Arrowstreet. You need to be knowledgeable of Appian business process management with hands-on experience designing and implementing complicated workflow solutions including external system integrations. Working with our talented Appian administrators in Shared Engineering Services, you will design and build Appian solutions and promote across multiple environments into Production. You will be involved in workflow testing, standards definition, adoption and adherence, and provide expertise and leadership supporting solution launch, support and enhancement.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, configure, deploy and enhance custom business workflows managed on a self-hosted AWS Appian platform.
- Define, implement and monitor Appian health checks.
- Provide leadership through your ideas, insights and know-how to drive successful Appian adoption.
- Evangelize adoption of the platform through quality service offering and responsiveness.
- Engage with platform users for UAT and requirements clarification.
- Engage with users to help with training, support, or troubleshooting.
- Participate in design sessions, articulate solution options, evaluate tradeoffs, and influence key decisions.
- Define and employ standards and best practices for Appian development and deployment.
- Mentor other technologists and analysts as they learn and grow on Appian.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related analytical field (mathematics, engineering, or finance).
- 1-3 years development experience using a low code platform, preferably Appian.
- Strong knowledge of business process management and reengineering.
- Appian Associate Developer or higher certification or equivalent for other platforms.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs and integrations.
- Strong knowledge of data structures and relational databases.
- Strong knowledge of low code development best practices.
- Development experience using Python and/or C# (.NET core) stack is a plus.
- Experience with ORMs (Django/SQLAlchemy/Entity Framework) and web frameworks (Django/ASP.NET) is a plus.
